KLD specialty tools provide clients with a special advantage - we understand how to further enhance the capabilities of the product, and can do so. As developers of these tools, we can ensure they are successfully applied - with guaranteed client satisfaction.

KLD also has a strong in-house capability in 3D visualization, which can support our partners in professional services.

For our evacuation and emergency response practice, we use our evacuation planning and simulation model (DYNEV) created for FEMA and later enhanced.

KLD has been a leader in the development of microscopic traffic simulation tools, beginning with UTCS-1, which evolved into NETSIM, now part of CORSIM. We also developed a freeway simulation model (INTRAS) for FHWA, and traffic signal optimization algorithms for FHWA, NYSERDA, and others.

KLD has co-developed and marketed capacity, Level of Service, and signal optimization software (HCM/Cinema and SIG/Cinema) to over 2500 users in 25 countries and most U.S. states.

KLD has further extended NETSIM (now the surface street part of CORSIM) and added a freeway component to form the simulation model, WATSim. For toll practice, KLD has added an exceptional toll plaza model (GENTOPS) to WATSim. Both are available to our agency clients.

Software Distribution and Support

KLD continues to market Cinema, and is considering a broader line of products based upon signalization and visualization.

Product support includes a web site of FAQ and demos, and in-house staff to service e-mail and telephone inquiries.  Training courses in Cinema and in modeling are available.
