KLD has undertaken a variety
of traffic and transit operations studies, and developed
implementation plans, using both standard professional practice
and computer modeling tools (either its own specialty tools or
others desired by the client).
An important
part of much of this work has been the ability to visualize how
vehicular traffic is interacting with the geometrics, with
pedestrian and other flows, and how modal interactions (for
instance, bus or light rail priority and other traffic) affect
each mode.
KLD is well
suited to EIA and EIS work due to its strengths in traffic and
transportation, which are central to most projects and which
drive much of the noise and air computations. For air
quality field work and other elements of an overall project, KLD
will involve partners in those specialties. Its own
special skills in computer visualization and adding complex
features to relevant models add a very special value. |
